TREVOR ROBERTS [b.1940]

Trevor Roberts was born in Llanharan in 1940. He studied orchestration and composition with Hubert Davies and David Wynne in Cardiff , and acknowledges also the importance of help and encouragement from Witold Lutlslawski at the Dartington Summer School. He was rehearsal pianist with the WNO from 1964-69, and piano tutor at the then University College , Cardiff , from 1976-82.

Idyll for SATB and strings, text by Alison Bielski. (Fishguard Festival,1975)

The Captivity for SATB and Piano, text by Alun Lewis (University College, Cardiff, 1976)

Three Offertories , for SATB and organ (Fishguard Festival, 1981)

Flûte de Pan , for flute and harp (Fishguard Festival, 1982)

Trois Promenades , for clarinet and piano (North Wales Festival, 1983)

Your Pain shall be a Music , for high voice and harp, text by Dylan Thomas (Fishguard Festival, 1987)

Ivor Novello Fantasy , for piano four-hands (British Red Cross, 1993)

A Hymn of Thanksgiving , for SATB and organ, for the 800th anniversary of St. David¹s Cathedral, Pembrokeshire).

Cofio Dewi , for SATB and organ, text Dafydd Wyn Jones (National Youth Choir of Wales,2001)

Recently: two original pieces and two folk-song arrangements for Côr Meinion y Machlud, who are based in Cowbridge
